• Recitation of Ayatul-Kursi in the morning and evening. I seek refuge with Allah from shaytan, the outcast. Allah, there is none worthy of worship except He, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sufficient Sustainer of all. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who can intercede with Him except by His Permission? He knows what happens to His creation in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. They will never encompass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi (footstool/chair) extends over the heavens and the earth, and it does not weary Him to preserve them both. He is the Exalted, the Most Magnificent.

We have reached the morning and at this very time all dominion belongs to Allah (for the evening, say: We have reached the evening and at this very time all dominion belongs to Allah…). All praise is due to Allah. There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone, without any partner. To Him belongs all dominion and praise, and He is able to do all things. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good that follows it, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of this day and the evil that follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and senility. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the torment of the hellfire and the torment of the grave.

O Allah, by your leave we have reached the morning and by Your leave we have reached the evening, by Your leave we live and die, and unto You is our resurrection. In the evening, say: O Allah, by Your leave we have reached the evening and by Your leave we have reached the morning, by Your leave we live and die and unto You is our return.

اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَصْبَحتُ(in the evening one says:اللهم إني أمسيت ..) O Allah, verily I have reached the morning (evening) and call on You, the bearers of Your throne, Your angels, and all of Your creation to witness that You are Allah, none has the right to be worshipped except You, alone, without any partner and that Muhammad is Your Servant and Messenger. The hadith states that whoever says that four times in the morning and evening, Allah will save them from the hellfire.

"اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَصْبَحَ بِي (in the evening one says :اللهم ما أمسى بي ..) O Allah, what blessing I or any of Your creation have risen upon (have reached the evening with), is from You alone, without any partner. Thus, for You is all praise and unto You all thanks. The hadith states that whoever says this in the morning has indeed offered their day’s thanks and whoever says this in the evening has indeed offered their night’s thanks.

O Allah, You are my Lord. None has the right to be worshipped except You. You created me, I am Your worshipping servant, and I fulfil my covenant and promise to You as I am best able. I seek refuge with You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge to You all Your blessings upon me, and I admit all my sins. Thus, forgive me, as no one can forgive sins except You. The hadith states that whoever says this with certainty in the evening and dies during the night, will enter Paradise. Likewise, whoever says this with certainty in the morning and dies during the day, will enter Paradise.

* "اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنيِ، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سِمْعِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ... (ثلاث مرات). O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. Allah is Sufficient for me, none has the right to be worshipped except Him, upon Him alone I rely, and He is Lord of the majestic throne. The hadith states that whoever says this seven times in the morning and evening, Allah – the Almighty and Majestic – will suffice them regarding what concerns them of the affairs of this world and the hereafter.

* "اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسألُكَ الْعَفْوَ والْعَافِيةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسألُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالَعَافِيَةَ: فِي دِيْنِي وَدُنْيَايَ وَأَهْلِيْ، وَمَالِي، اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي، اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بِينَ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي، وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي، وَمِنْ فَوْقِي، وَأَعُوْذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَن أُغْتَالَ مِن تَحْتِي". O Allah, I implore You to pardon me and grant me well-being in this world and the hereafter. O Allah, I implore You to pardon me and grant me well-being in my religion, worldly affairs, family, and property. O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears. O Allah, protect me from in front, from behind, on my right, on my left, and from above, and I seek refuge in Your Greatness from being suddenly afflicted from beneath myself.

* "اللَّهُمَّ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالْشَّهَادَةِ فَاطِرَ السَّموَاتِ والأَرْضِ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَّ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ، وَأَنْ أَقْتَرِفَ عَلَى نَفْسِي سُوءًا، أَوْ أَجُرَّهُ إِلى مُسْلِم". O Allah, Knower of the seen and the unseen, Originator of the heavens and the Earth, Lord and Master of everything. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own soul, from the evil of shaytan and the shirk he incites, and from committing wrong against myself or bringing harm upon another Muslim.

* "بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لاَ يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلاَ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّميْعُ الْعَلِيمُ" في الحديث: من قالها إذا أصبح ثلاثاً وإذا أمسى ثلاثاً لم يضره شيء. In the name of Allah with whose name nothing is harmed on earth nor in the heavens and He is The All-Hearing, The All-Knowing. I am pleased with Allah as a Lord, Islam as a religion, and Muhammad (may Allah’s salah and salam be upon him) as a Prophet. (To be said three times). The hadith states that whoever says this three times in the morning and evening, Allah will guarantee that they will be pleased on the Day of Resurrection.

* "يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ وَلاَ تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَين". O Ever-Living, O Self-Sufficient Sustainer of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance; rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.

We have reached the morning and at this very time all dominion belongs to Allah, Lord of all creation. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this day; its triumphs, its victories, its light, its blessings, and its guidance. I seek refuge with You from the evil of this day and the evil that follows it.

In the evening, say: We have reached the evening and at this very time all dominion belongs to Allah, Lord of all creation. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this night, its triumphs, its victories, its light, its blessings, and its guidance. I seek refuge with You from the evil of this night and the evil that follows it.

Allah is perfect in every way, and praise is due to Him as abundantly as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as great as the weight of His throne, and as infinitely as His inexhaustible words. (To be said three times).

Allah is perfect in every way and deserving of all praise. The hadith states that whoever says this one hundred times will have their sins forgiven, even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.

There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone, without any partner. To Him belongs all dominion and praise, and He is able to do all things. The hadith states that whoever says this dhikr one hundred times, it will be equivalent to them freeing ten slaves, one hundred good deeds will be recorded for them, one hundred bad deeds will be erased from them, and it will be a protection for them against shaytan all day until nightfall. No one can come with anything more virtuous than such a person except one who says more than that.
